We invite you visit our four season destination where trails, fun and recreation are plentiful year round! Miles and miles of terrain are waiting to be explored by hunters, fishermen and hiking enthusiasts alike. Kayakers, canoeists and whitewater daredevils look to our lakes, rivers and streams in our neck of the woods are considered among the best. While you’re here, catch a glimpse of our local celebrity – the Moose and the spectacular scenery the Katahdin area is famous for!
We are home to Baxter State Park where Maine's tallest peak - Mt. Katahdin, the Northern Terminus of the Appalachian Trail and an abundance of hiking trails are found. The Katahdin Region is well-known by sportsmen for its world class landlock salmon and small mouth bass fishing.
Winter in the Katahdin Region is truly a pristine winter wonderland. With over 350 miles of groomed trails, we are proud to offer some of the most spectacular snowmobiling in Maine. The winter season also brings added pleasure for cross country skiers, snowshoers, ice fishers and lovers of snow.
ATV enthusiasts, take note! The latest addition to the plethora of recreational opportunities within the Katahdin Region is the Katahdin Region Multi-Use Trail. While this four season trail can be used for anything imaginable, including hiking and biking, it's ideal for ATVs. K.R.U.M.T connects with ATV trails in the Brownville region to provide a whole new world of riding!
We're conveniently located just an hour away from Bangor International Airport and easily accessible from Interstate 95. Our local airport operates year round to accommodate visitors who prefer air travel.
Come for a visit and stay for a lifetime!
