Tuesday, July 3rd: 8:00 pm-11:00 pm: Street Dance DJ'ed by Frank Manzo at Veteran's Memorial Park Bandstand.
Millinocket Independence Day Celebration, Wednesday, July 4th, 2012.
Schedule of Events:
9:00 am-5:00 pm Vendors in Veteran's Memorial Park, Millinocket. Looking for talented crafters, artisans, authors, food purveyors, farmers and avid sportsmen to set up booths in the park.
9:30-10:30 am: Whoopie Pie contest in the Park. All are welcome to make their favorite whoopie pies and bring them to the park for the judges to taste. Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners following the parade.
10:00 am: Parade Line-up at Northern Shopping Plaza on Central St.
11:00 am Parade. This year's theme: Hometown Heroes-Past, Present & Future. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies and Chamber Bucks to be awarded to the best Floats. Show off your business and/or organization and enter a float in the parade.
12:00-1:30 KACC sponsored chicken BBQ with Hometown macaroni salad. Proceeds to benefit next year's 4th of July celebration
12:00 noon until it disappears--Free slices of juicy watermelon in the park co-sponsored by Pangburn's Family IGA and KACC.
12:00-1:30 Engaging folk singer and songwriter, Nick Humphrey will perform at the bandstand.
12:30-3:30 Piecemakers Quilting Group's Red, White and Blue Quilt raffle tickets sold in the park. Winner will be announced at 3:00 pm. Proceeds to benefit 4th of July festivities.
1:30 pm Pie Auction in the park with auctioneer, Kermit Cote. Proceeds to benefit 4th of July activities.
2:00-5:00 pm The Colwell Brothers Band will perform in the Bandstand. Based out of Hallowell, Maine, this group plays R&B, Blues and Rock &Roll. They have opened for BB King, CCR and Roseanne Cash.
5:30-9:30 pm Hathaway Band in front of Millinocket Middle School gym will play until the Fireworks start.
9:00 pm FIREWORKS at Stearns High School Field
This year enjoy a fun-filled 4th of July in Millinocket. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy all the activities in the Park.

9:00 am Book Sale at Millinocket Memorial Library
